Itinerary

Day 1, Monday, June 21: Depart for Medjugorje

Make your way to your local airport, where you will board your overnight flight. Your meals will be served on board.

Day 2, Tuesdays, June 22: Arrive Medjugorje

Upon arrival in Europe, change gates to board your short connection flight to either: Dubrovnik, Split, or Sarajevo airport. Upon arrival, collect your luggage in the baggage claim area, and continue to the arrival's hall, where you will be greeted by a tour guide and/or driver, who will take you on the 2.5 hour drive to the village of Medjugorje. Enjoy dinner before retiring for the evening.

Days 3 - 9, Wednesday - Friday, June 23 - 29: Experiencing Medjugorje

The most beautiful feature of Medjugorje is its simplicity, and its peace. While in Medjugorje, you will have the opportunity to experience your faith grow, and share in the faith journey of pilgrims from all over the world. The local guide will accompany your group throughout your stay in the village.

Some activities that will accompany you in your spiritual journey:

Attend Daily Mass: Each morning, at 10:00A.M, your group will assemble at St. James Church for Mass (English-Speaking). At the end of each Mass, regardless of language, there is a blessing of the religious articles that you have with you.

On Feast Days, and Sundays: English Mass is at Noon

Climb Apparition Hill: This mountainous hill is where the visionaries first encountered Our Lady. Also, at the base of this hill is a Blue Cross, where it is said Our Lady appeared to the children while they hid from the communist police in the early days of the alleged apparitions. When climbing, your group is invited to recite the Rosary, pausing five times for each decade of the Rosary. At the top of the hill, you will witness the exact location of the first alleged apparition of Our Lady to the visionaries, and enjoy private time in prayer.

Climb Mt. Krizevac (Cross Mountain): In 1933, the villagers built a 30' high cross atop a mountain to commemorate Jesus' passion and death on the cross. Your group will have the opportunity to climb this mountain, and venerate that very cross. When climbing, your group is invited to pray the Stations of the Cross (to meditate on Jesus' suffering Road to Calvary), pausing fifteen times for each Station.

Apparitions: Each evening at 5:00 PM (or 6:00 PM depending on Daylight Savings Time), your group can join the villagers and fellow pilgrims of Medjugorje at either St James Church or Apparition Hill to commemorate the time Our Lady appears to the Visionaries. There you can pray the Rosary, as you all await that time (5:40 PM or 6:40 PM during Daylight Savings Time).
*Afterward, Croatian Mass is held at St. James Church and is free to all to attend. It is broadcasted by the radio, simultaneously in order to translate the services from Croatian into many languages. Following the Croatian Mass, there is a Blessing of the Sick.
**For details about the Visionaries, please visit: www.206tours.com/visionaries

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Our Lady has always called us to be close to her Son. For this, you will have the opportunity to adore the Blessed Sacrament at the outside altar of St. James Church. Adoration is held on Tuesdays and Saturdays; Veneration of the Cross is held on Fridays inside the Church. Additionally, there is an Adoration Chapel on the grounds of St. James Church. Adoration is held here in the afternoon hours.

Visit to the Community of Cenacolo: You will have the opportunity to visit the community of Cenacolo, founded by the Sisters of Charity, for young men and women who have taken a wrong path and are on the road to recovery. You will be able to listen to their inspirational words about their journeys back to Jesus Christ.

Prayer at the Statue of the Risen Christ: Located on the grounds of St. James Church, is the bronze statue of the Risen Christ. Many pilgrims sit and pray on the benches surrounding this peaceful statue. This statue miraculously seeps droplets of water at all times of the day, out of Christ's right knee.

Day 10, Wednesday, June 30: Medjugorje - Home

After an early breakfast and heartfelt farewells, we leave by motor coach for Dubrovnik Airport (Split or Sarajevo) for our return flights home.

About Wayne Weible:
Wayne Weible, born in Long Beach California in 1937, was a former newspaper publisher and columnist who became interested in the alleged apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to six young Croatians in the tiny village of Medjugorje in Bosnia-Hercegovina, in October 1985. He authored twelve books on his experiences and investigations of the reported apparitions, all which have become international best sellers. The first is titled, "Medjugorje: The Message" with more than 1,000,000 copies sold in the US and an estimated 500,000 copies in other languages around the world. "Medjugorje: The Message" continues to be the top-selling book internationally on the Medjugorje apparitions. His latest books included, "Medjugorje the Last Apparition", "Medjugorje and the Eucharist" and "The Joy of Medjugorje". Weible spent his professional time writing and lecturing on the phenomenon of Medjugorje, traveling throughout the world and the United States. Wayne made it his life's mission to spread the messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje bringing hundreds of thousands of people to conversion to God. He has also appeared on numerous national, regional and local television and radio programs. Weible converted to the Roman Catholic Church in December, 1991; however, he continued to emphasize that "The message coming from the Virgin Mary in Medjugorje is for all faiths, not just for Catholics - or for that matter just for Christians." Weible traveled to Medjugorje over 130 times leading dozens of pilgrimages and was personally acquainted with all of the visionaries. He was married to Judith Weible and lived in the mountains of North Georgia, in the small town of Hiawassee until his death on April 21, 2018. He is missed very much by his family and those in involved in Medjugorje.

Wayne Passes Away Leaving a Legacy of Love and Prayer

Now Wayne lives in the presence of Jesus and His Blessed Mother forever. I cannot imagine how overjoyed he was to arrive into Heaven. Sadly, on Thursday April 19, we had to move Wayne into hospice care and on Saturday April 21 he passed away peacefully with me at his side. Thank you so much for all your prayers and support. Just knowing you were with us in spirit during this difficult time made everything so much easier. May God have mercy on Wayne's soul and may he forever rest in the arms of Our Lady. Since Wayne's passing was announced on Saturday morning, hundreds and perhaps thousands of you have posted comments on a variety of catholic sites on the Internet and hundreds of you have emailed me with your words of condolence and your support. I cannot find the words to tell you how much I appreciate your love and your prayers. Thank you! Along with those words I have received an incredible number of testimonies of conversion due to Wayne's writings and his talks. It is astounding to contemplate how many lives Jesus and His Mother have touched though Wayne's holy and anointed mission. Below are just a few of those testimonies; I will let those who have been so moved speak for themselves.

From Slavenka (Wayne's guide in Medjugorje): As many of you know, I spent over twenty years working for Wayne as his translator and as a guide of 206 Tours groups. As the years went by, we got to know each other very well. So for me Wayne was not just a writer of bestselling books, he was not just a great speaker or carrier of messages of Our Lady...for me Wayne was a friend. We shared many joys and tears together. Maybe some of you know this, maybe not, but Wayne, for six years, supported Mirko Kordic from Siroki Brijeg through university to graduate and became a doctor. Wayne helped refugee families to build or rebuilt their homes... And when I look back on all of that work it was not about donations but about love - love he was sharing with those people.? If you ask me what kind of person Wayne was, I will tell you that he was a good man, one of the best I have met in my life. Through him I learned what gentleness truly is. I learned that we have to practice that gentleness every moment of our lives that only then does it become natural. I learned that the gentleness did not leave him even when he was weak and in pain. I was watching that gentleness a few weeks ago in the hospital in Atlanta. I was watching it and admired it because it was as much a part of him as his legs or arms were. If you ask me to tell you more about Wayne, I will tell that the greatest men are always humble and simple. I will tell you that he was a great singer, oh yes, the singer with the best performances of Elvis Presley. I will tell that he had this nice sense of humor which did not leave him even on his death bed. And he was a good listener too! Some people save money but Wayne was saving people. I remember how our friend Milanka told me many years ago to watch over him because he would give everything away, that he would take his shirt off to give it to someone in need. Wayne did so much for Our Lady of Medjugorje that I know for sure he is resting in her arms, finally. Since Wayne passed, I have got letters from all corners of the United States, Australia, Korea ... I can tell you: it was not just Medjugorje but the world prayed for him. In the end, I have to say that I cannot thank God enough for letting me walk by Wayne's side for almost half of my life! I spoke several times daily to you, Judith Weible in the last few months, I have to say again: the deepest condolences from my family to yours! Wayne, thank you for being my friend! Rest in Peace!

Noreen A Murphy: I have all Wayne's books and newsletters. I read "Medjugorje The Message" three times and learned something powerful each time. It was my stimulus to go to Medjugorje. I met Wayne at two different Marian Conferences and I was amazed at how the Holy Spirit guided him on his journey. I always loved the fact that he gave his life to spreading the messages. That takes faith, tenacity, total trust in God, especially when one looks back at all he pursued with so much love and devotion. I feel proud to have met him in person. RIP Wayne, you deserve a high place in heaven! Dear Judith, Wayne was a true apostle of Our Blessed Mother Mary, and he is now receiving his reward: being close to his Mother and the Lord. He has worked tirelessly for so long as he guided so many people shining the light of Mary and Jesus by his very life. You will miss him, but you know you have a saint in heaven that prays for you. We will all miss him. Meeting him on our pilgrimage to Kibeho was a special grace me. The memory of his person stays with us and his writings will continue to spread light on the mystery of heaven and the Love of Mary and Jesus. Immense thank you Wayne Weible. God Bless, Fr. Gerry LeStrat, OMI

Wayne's Goddaughter, Kimmy Hammond: Although my eyes are watery and my heart aches, my soul feels joy that you have found peace and everlasting love with our Heavenly Father. I am sure my mom was there to greet you with a big hug. I only wish I listened to you and called you as often as you wanted. Life is so very precious and short. We all need to pray harder, hug our kids and parents tighter, and kiss our spouses longer. We are here for just a moment and then suddenly we aren't. I am just so thankful and blessed to have had you in my life to be there for the big moments. Out of the hundred thousand lives you touched, how lucky was I to be able to call you mine. You never ceased to amaze me with how incredible and strong your faith and your love for people was. May God always bless all of Wayne's followers, friends, and family. His bright light will shine forever in all of our hearts and minds. Fly high, I love you "Well done, good and faithful servant".

Milanka Lachman (206 Tours President) Wayne Weible died today because his body had served its purpose. Wayne's soul had done what it came to do, to spread the message of Our Lady of Medjugorje, to be an amazing husband, father, grandfather, friend to all who ever met him. I know for certain that Wayne was one of the kindest and most prayerful men that I have ever met. I know for certain that we never lose friends like Wayne and the people we love. They intercede for us and continue to participate in every act we do. I find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by reading Wayne's books, hearing Wayne's talks, going on Wayne's pilgrimages and for being Wayne's friend. My deepest condolences to his beloved wife Judith Weible, and Wayne's entire family. Wayne Weible we will continue to "spread the message" we will remember all you did for us through your writing and speaking how you have touched millions; your charitable causes and helping so many all over the world; 30 years of bringing many to find their faith, you have helped me personally on so many levels and my company 206 Tours by coordinating the largest pilgrimages ever: and that's just what you did from earth, God only knows what you will be doing from Heaven! Maybe you can move the Krizevac Mountain bit closer to the Holy See. The memories of you will always bring me a smile. You were the best friend that one could ever want and we loved you a lot, but God loves you a lot more! Until we meet again.

Dear Judith, I am sad beyond words for you, for your loved ones, for me for all those who have known Wayne and felt the presence of God and the Blessed Mother through his devotion for all these years. I am also happy, relieved for him that he is at last in the arms of his Mother, in the presence of Jesus, surrounded by all that he has spoken of, lived for and believed in for all these years. I know he will continue to be a spiritual warrior on our behalf from his place in Heaven and I know that he will be your constant guide, by your side as you continue his work which has become yours - God's work. In these days, I pray for your comfort and peace. May you be surrounded by the Angels. With love, blessings, Kathy Ward

Weible Columns will continue on as normal. Wayne had actually not been a part of the day-to-day running of the office in quite some time so Weible Columns can continue to spread Our Lady's messages through our monthly newsletter, our selections of spiritual books and our Medjugorje pilgrimages in the same manner as it has been doing. Wayne Weible's Facebook page will continue on as part of Weible Columns. Please keep posting any testimonies you have on Facebook and tag Wayne Weible as I am publishing a collection of testimonies into a Wayne Weible memorial book. Alternately you can email testimonies you wish to share to [email protected]. We will also continue our November pilgrimages each year. They will now be led by Slavenka, our long time Medjugorje guide, joined by Fr. Ed Chalmers, our pilgrimage priest from Boston, and Judith Weible, Wayne's wife. This year will be a "special tribute to Wayne" pilgrimage in which we can all share our stories of traveling with Wayne on previous trips, or just perhaps reading his books or listening to him speak somewhere. We encourage as many of you as possible to join us on what we hope will be a deeply spiritual experience, in which we make a lot of lasting memories and friends. Many blessings to you all and thank you for your faithfulness to Wayne and his mission. -- Judith Weible

About Medjugorje

Medjugorje, located in Bosnia & Herzegovina, is the site of the 1981 Marian Apparitions. On June 24th 1981 six children witnessed the Blessed Virgin Mary on what is now known as Apparition Hill. The apparition of Our Lady had a message of peace for the world, as well as a call to conversion, prayer and fasting. She appeared to them with an infant in their arms and confided several secrets to the children. Some of the children, now adults, continue to witness Our Lady’s apparitions.

Medjugorje is a place of peace and prayer where over 40 million people have visited the now popular Pilgrimage site. In 2018 Pope Francis appointed Archbishop Henryk Hoser the “Apostolic Visitor” to Medjugorje in steps to officially recognize Medjugorje as a sacred Catholic site. On May 13, 2019 the Holy See officially announced that Dioceses and Parishes throughout the world are officially authorized to organize Pilgrimages to Medjugorje.
