Itinerary

Day 1 | October 10, 2021: Depart home airport for Rome

Make your way to your local airport, where you will board your overnight flight. Meals will be served on overnight flight(s) only.

Day 2 | October 11, 2021: Arrive Rome - Assisi

We will be met by guide and driver. We will first celebrate Mass at St. Peter's Basilica. After Mass we will visit the tomb of St. John Paul II and view Michelangelo's stunning marble structure, the Pieta and continue on to the Church of Gesu, St. Mary Major Basilica, St. John Lateran Basilica and Basilica of Holy Cross in Jerusalem which houses the relics of the Passion of Jesus brought from Jerusalem to Rome by St. Helena. We will then continue to Assisi for hotel check in. Dinner and overnight in Assisi

Day 3 | October 12, 2021: Assisi

As you visit the birthplace of St. Francis, you will become captivated as the atmosphere has not changed since St. Francis began his ministry, in the early 13th-century. You will start your tour at the St. Francis Basilica, visit his tomb of St. Francis, and have the opportunity to view a series of frescoes depicting his life, along with a few of the saint's possessions. From there, you will continue on a walking tour through this picturesque town, including the birthplace of St. Francis, and end with a tour of the Church that honors St. Clare, the foundress of the Poor Clare Sisters. This Saint followed the teachings of St. Francis very closely by also living a life of poverty and humility. Enjoy some free time on your own - you may take this time for additional prayer, shop in the many gift shops or enjoy a nice lunch. After lunch, you will board the bus, which will take you outside of the walls of Assisi, to the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels. This is where St. Francis spent most of life. This Basilica is made up of two structures, both of which you will visit. The first structure, is the "Porziuncola", which is where St. Francis founded his order of the Friar Minor (Franciscans). The second, is the "Capella del Transito", which is the place of St. Francis' death. During your time here, you will have the opportunity to visit the beautiful Rose Garden where St. Francis and other friars lived, as well as the cave where the Saint retired to pray. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight.

Day 4 | October 13, 2021: Assisi - Loreto - Lanciano - San Giovanni Rotondo

After breakfast at the hotel we will continue to Loreto. Upon arrival will have Mass at Holy House in Loreto. The Basilica della Santa Casa (Basilica of the Holy House) is a Marian Shrine . The Basilica is known for enshrining the house in which the Blessed Virgin Mary lived. Next, we will transfer to Lanciano. Upon arrival we will have lunch on our own. Following lunch, we will visit the Church of the site of the Eucharistic Miracle occurred in eighth century. At the time of the Miracle, there was a Basilian monk who struggled with the belief in the real presence of The Lord Jesus in the Eucharist. During the time of Mass, the monk, with doubt in his voice, said the "Words of Consecration" and the bread turned into living flesh, and the wine transformed into live blood. Time permitting we will have free time in Lanciano to explore on our own. Transfer to San Giovanni Rotondo for hotel check-in, dinner and overnight.

Day 5 | October 14, 2021: San Giovanni Rotondo (View Incorrupt Body of St. Padre Pio)

This morning, after breakfast, you will visit the Old Church. After Mass, you will tour the sanctuary, it is here you will view the crucifix, in front of which St. Pio received the stigmata. Visit the confessional from where St. Pio spent an innumerable amount of hours listening to confessions. Enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure. This evening meet the group for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 | October 15, 2021: San Giovanni Rotondo - Monte Sant'Angelo - Bari Pier

After breakfast, you will board the bus and travel along the beautiful Gargano Peninsula to the Grotto of St. Michael the Archangel, a Shrine consecrated by St. Michael. At this Grotto, St. Michael appeared to a Bishop to assure him that his diocese would not be annihilated as he feared. Another Mass at the Grotto of St. Michael. Following the visit to the Grotto transfer to Bari Pier for your Ferry to Croatia. On the way to Bari enjoy the breathtaking views of the Sea and surrounding countryside. Dinner and overnight in cabin on the ferry.

Day 7 | October 16, 2021: Pier - Dubrovnik

Upon arrival at the port in Dubrovnik, the group will be greeted by our local guide and driver and proceed to Old Town in Dubrovnik, often called the Pearl of the Adriatic. The Old Town is known as one of the world's finest and most perfectly preserved medieval cities in the world, built between the 11th and 17th centuries. We will celebrate Mass in St. Blasius Church, dedicated to the patron saint of Dubrovnik, after which you will have time to stroll through this amazing walled city and have lunch at one of the many quaint restaurants. After lunch, drive 2.5 hours in our private, comfortable bus to the village of Medjugorje. Once there we will be introduced to the Dragicevic Family, our hosts , in whose comfortable, yet modest inn we will be staying for the next seven nights. Enjoy a delicious dinner before retiring for the evening.

Day 8 - 13 | October 17 - 22, 2021: Medjugorje

Experience the beauty and peace of this simple village. During your stay in Medjugorje you will have the opportunity to share faith with pilgrims from all over the world. Our local guide will accompany us throughout your stay.

Attend Daily Mass: Each morning, at 10:00 A.M, your group will assemble at St. James Church for Mass (English-Speaking). At the end of each Mass, regardless of language, there is a blessing of the religious articles that you have with you.

On Feast Days and Sundays: English Mass is at Noon.

Apparitions: Each evening at 5:00 PM (or 6:00 PM depending on Daylight Savings Time), your group can join the villagers and fellow pilgrims of Medjugorje at either St James Church or Apparition Hill to commemorate the time Our Lady appears to the Visionaries. There you can pray the Rosary, as you all await that time (5:40 PM or 6:40 PM during Daylight Savings Time).
*Afterward, Croatian Mass is held at St. James Church and is free to all to attend. It is broadcasted by the radio, simultaneously in order to translate the services from Croatian into many languages. Following the Croatian Mass, there is a Blessing of the Sick.

Climb Apparition Hill: This mountainous hill is where the visionaries had their first encounter with Our Lady. Also, at the base of this hill is a Blue Cross, where Our Lady allegedly appeared to the children while they hid from the communist police in the early days of the alleged apparitions. When climbing, your group is invited to recite the Rosary, pausing five times for each decade of the Rosary. At the top of the hill, you will witness the exact location of the first alleged apparition of Our Lady to the visionaries, and enjoy private time in prayer.

Climb Mt. Krizevac (Cross Mountain): In 1933, the villagers built a 30' high cross atop a mountain to commemorate Jesus' passion and death on the cross. Your group will have the opportunity to climb this mountain, and venerate that very cross. When climbing, your group is invited to pray the Stations of the Cross to meditate on Jesus' suffering Road to Calvary.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: The bronze statue of the Risen Christ is located on the grounds of St. James Church. Many pilgrims sit and pray on the benches surrounding this peaceful statue. This statue miraculously seeps droplets of water at all times of the day, out of Christ's right knee.

Day 14 | October 23, 2021: Medjugorje - USA

After an early breakfast and heartfelt farewells, we leave by motor coach to the airport for return flights home.

Day 1, October 15: : Departure from the U.S.

Depart from your local airport for your overnight flight to Dubrovnik, meals will be served on board.

Day 2, October 16: Arrive Dubrovnik - Medjugorje

Upon arrival into Dubrovnik airport, the group will be greeted by our local guide and driver and proceed to Old Town in Dubrovnik, often called the Pearl of the Adriatic. Day 3 - 8, October 17 - 22: Experiencing Medjugorje

The most beautiful features of Medjugorje are its simplicity and peace. While in Medjugorje, you may experience your faith grow, and share in the faith journey of pilgrims from all over the world. A local guide will accompany your group throughout your stay in the village.
