Join Fr. Emmet O'Hara on a special pilgrimage to Dubrovnik and Medjugorje with accommodations in Medjugorge at the family home of visionary Ivan Dragicevic! Fr. O'Hara will act as your Spiritual Director, celebrating Mass Daily, and will be available for spiritual activities, Rosary, and daily Reconciliation. Spend 10 days on a Catholic Pilgrimage beginning with two nights in Dubrovnik, also known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic". Then head to the peaceful village of Medjugorje, located in Bosnia & Herzegovina, the site of the 1981 Marian Apparitions. On June 24, 1981 six children witnessed the Blessed Virgin Mary on what is now known as Apparition Hill. The apparition had a message of peace for the world, as well as a call to conversion, prayer and fasting. Medjugorje was the inspiration for the foundation of 206 Tours, and we have been sending Pilgrims there since 1985. Ivan Dragicevic was one of these children and he continues to witness Our Lady's Apparitions to this day.

About Ivan Dragicevic Ivan is the older of the two boys, who allegedly see Our Lady. He was born on May 25, 1965 in Bijakovici. Our Lady has allegedly appeared to him every day since June 24, 1981. Our Lady has confided nine out of the ten secrets to Ivan, as well as given him his prayer mission; to pray for priests, families, and the youth of the world. Currently, Ivan his married to his wife, Laureen, and they have four children. Ivan resides in both, the village of Medjugorje and the US, equally separating his time at each residence.

Ivan: "The apparitions made a big difference in my life - the difference between heaven and earth. For example, I arrange my day now so that even during the day I find time to pray. Before, my life had no meaning. Now, I'm filled with inner contentment. The first time I saw Our Lady, a change occurred in my soul, and in my heart. Before, I often avoided prayer, but now the difference is so great, I really can't describe it. I'm confident and not afraid, because I know who leads me, and therefore, I'm not afraid of death. People in our parish, and all people, should feel that way."

Itinerary

Day 1, Saturday, Sept 17: Depart USA:

Depart from from your hometown for the overnight flight to Europe. Dinner and breakfast will be served on board.

Day 2, Sunday, Sept 18: Arrive Dubrovnik:

Arrive in Croatia's "Pearl of the Adriatic", Dubrovnik! Check into your hotel before heading for a walking tour of the Old City. Meet our local guide who will take us on a walking tour of the Old City. It will begin at St. Blaise Church, the Patron Saint of Dubrovnik. Continue to the Gothic and Renaissance styled Rector's Palace. Next, you will stroll by the iconic Bell Tower Clock and Orlando's Column. To the left of this column, you will see the Sponza Palace. In the sixteenth century, members of the Academia dei Concordi met to discuss literature and to this day, the palace is the most important cultural institution of Dubrovnik. Lastly, you will visit the Dominican and Franciscan Monasteries. The location of the Dominican Monastery is strategically placed at the most sensitive point of Dubrovnik's defense barriers. While at the Franciscan Monastery, you will have the opportunity to visit one of the first Pharmacies still in existence. Dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik.

Day 3, Monday, Sept 19: Dubrovnik Day at Leisure:

After Mass enjoy exploring timeless streets in Dubrovnik. No cars are allowed inside the wall city (deliveries are made during the night), stop at the market, or at one of many small family-owned shops and restaurants. You can buy a ticket to walk on top of the wall, from there you can watch one of the best preserved 600 year old cities in the world, still occupied by 5,000 inhabitants.

Day 4 - 9, Tuesday - Monday, Sept 20 - 26: Medjugorje:

Today we will take the 2 1/2 hour drive by private coach to the village of Medjugorje with accommodations at the family home of Visionary Ivan Dragicevic!

Experience the beauty and peace of this simple village. During your stay in Medjugorje you will have the opportunity to share faith with pilgrims from all over the world. Here are some of the activities we'll be sharing with our fellow pilgrims: Each morning at 10am we assemble at St James Church for the English-language Mass (Feast days and Sundays English Mass is at Noon). Follow the path up Apparition Hill where the visionaries first encountered Our Lady. Touch and pray before the cross that commemorates the spot where Mary first appeared to the visionaries. Each evening at 6pm, we will join the villagers and pilgrims to pray the rosary. The apparition takes place at 6:40 daylight savings time, and then stay on for Croatian Mass. Don't miss on Thursdays and Saturdays Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and on Fridays Veneration of the Cross in the Church. Each evening during Croatian Mass, there is the Blessing of the Sick and blessing of the items you have with you. Our guide will arrange meetings with the visionaries at their own homes provided that they are in Medjugorje during your trip, and pending their availability. We will have the opportunity to climb Krizevac Mountain, where in 1933 the villagers built a 30' high cross on the anniversary of Jesus' crucifixion. Visit and pray at "Blue Cross", which is a place of great healings and graces- a very special place at the base of Apparition Hill. We will visit the community of Cenacolo.

Day 10, Tuesday, Sept 27: Medjugorje - USA / OR Post Tour to Rome

After an early breakfast and heartfelt farewells, we leave by motor coach for the airport (Dubrovnik, Split or Sarajevo) for return flights home.

About Medjugorje

Medjugorje, located in Bosnia & Herzegovina, is the site of the 1981 Marian Apparitions. On June 24th 1981 six children witnessed the Blessed Virgin Mary on what is now known as Apparition Hill. The apparition of Our Lady had a message of peace for the world, as well as a call to conversion, prayer and fasting. She appeared to them with an infant in their arms and confided several secrets to the children. Some of the children, now adults, continue to witness Our Lady’s apparitions.

Medjugorje is a place of peace and prayer where over 40 million people have visited the now popular Pilgrimage site. In 2018 Pope Francis appointed Archbishop Henryk Hoser the “Apostolic Visitor” to Medjugorje in steps to officially recognize Medjugorje as a sacred Catholic site. On May 13, 2019 the Holy See officially announced that Dioceses and Parishes throughout the world are officially authorized to organize Pilgrimages to Medjugorje.
