Day 1, June 12 Depart USA, Tampa for your flight to Lisbon
Depart from New York for the overnight flights to Portugal. Dinner and breakfast will be served on board.
Day 2, June 13 - Arrive Lisbon - Fatima:
Upon arrival in Lisbon Airport, , retrieve your luggage and exit the baggage claim into the arrivals hall where you will be greeted by a tour guide/driver. You will be escorted to the vehicle which will then take you to a sightseeing tour of this beautiful Portuguese city. We will then visit Saint Anthony's Church (the patron saint of lost objects). We will then continue to Fatima, where the Blessed Mother appeared in 1917 to three simple shepherd children and exhorted mankind to pray for world peace. The reminder of the day will be free for you to rest, reflect, pray and explore. We will get together in time for dinner and retire for a restful evening.
Day 3, June 14 - Fatima:
Today will be a memorable experience as you pray and meditate upon one of Our Blessed Mother's apparition sites. Our Lady appeared to three shepherd children: Lucia (age 10), Jacinta (age 7), and Francisco (age 9). These apparitions occurred monthly from May until October of 1917. Historically, as the entire world was in true turmoil, Our Lady's most prominent message during this time was to pray for world peace. The destruction of the world at that point in history was also mentioned by Our Lady in her messages of Fatima, and more specifically, in her second secret to the children. Our profoundly reflective day begins with a visit to the Little Chapel of the Apparitions. This simple, yet modern, chapel is the site where the Virgin Mary first appeared on May 13, 1917. Continue with a visit to the stunning neoclassical church, the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary. This Sacred space contains the tombs of Blessed Francisco, Blessed Jacinta, and Sister Lucia. View the monument, that commemorates the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in the square. Due to Our Lady's consistency in Her messages to pray the Rosary, this Basilica also features fifteen altars that are dedicated to the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary. While in the Basilica, you will be able to feel, through the Love of Our Lord and Lady, the many graces that were received here. Visit the Museum with the exhibition: Fatima: Light and Peace. Continue with a visit to the Holy Trinity Basilica. After free time for lunch, we will experience Christ's unconditional love by participating in the Stations of the Cross along the Via Sacra. The "Sacred Way" marks the path taken by the shepherd children of Fatima to their first apparition with Our Lady. It is composed of fifteen small chapels in commemoration of the Passion of Our Lord. The fifteenth station, the Resurrection, can be found close to the Chapel of Calvary, dedicated to St. Stephen, King of Hungary. Ending the day with a visit to Valinhos, the site of Our Lady's August 1917 apparition and the first and third apparition of the Angel. Your night will conclude with private devotions, and a candlelight procession, requested by Our Lady (1917). Enjoy dinner and a comfortable night's rest in Fatima.
Day 4, June 15 - Fatima - Lourdes:
Following breakfast, transfer to Lisbon airport for short flight to Toulouse. Upon arriving at Toulouse airport, make your way to the baggage claim area and collect your luggage. Proceed to the arrival's hall, where you will be greeted by your driver. Embark on a scenic drive to Lourdes. Check-in to your hotel and relax or explore before dinner. Following dinner, you will have free time to pray the Rosary and to attend the candlelight procession. These processions are lit by candlelight and guided by the Most Holy Rosary. Following this prayerful experience, you will return to your hotel for an overnight.
Day 5, June 16 - Lourdes:
Today, you will wake up in a small town that is nestled within the Pyrenees Mountains. During your time in Lourdes, you will pray and meditate in yet another site of Our Lady's apparitions. Our Lady first appeared to Bernadette in 1858, and announced herself as "The Immaculate Conception", near the Grotto of Massabielle. At the first two apparitions, little Bernadette prayed the Rosary with Our Lady and left without any exchange of words. During the following apparitions, Our Lady emphasized God's love for us, penance, and the necessity of performing acts of penance for sinners. Throughout your time in Lourdes, you will have the opportunity to attend Mass at the Grotto of where Our Lady appeared to Bernadette; watch a video presentation that explains, in detail, the story of Lourdes; drink water from the miraculous spring that has healed many, and submerge yourself in the healing baths (pending availability). Additionally, you will have the opportunity to experience Christ's unconditional love as you meditate on the "life-size" Stations of the Cross that overlook the Grotto of Massabielle. Also, while in Lourdes, you will walk in and meditate upon the footsteps of St. Bernadette. You will have the opportunity to see Boly Mill, the birthplace of St. Bernadette; and the "Cachot," an abandoned prison where Bernadette's impoverished family lived. In the evening, you will have free time to attend the Blessed Sacrament Procession before dinner. Following dinner participate in the candlelight procession and the Rosary. Return to hotel for a restful night of sleep.
Day 6, June 17 - Lourdes to Paris:
After an early breakfast we will depart to Lourdes airport for our flight to Paris. Upon arriving at Paris airport, make your way to the baggage claim area and collect your luggage and then proceed to the arrival's hall, where you will be greeted by your driver, who will transfer you to your hotel. Attend Mass at the magnificent, Sacre Coeur Basilica that stands atop Montmartre Hill. The Basilica, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, was originally built in 1914, as an act of penance for the infidelity that France was experiencing during that time. While on your visit, in addition to the extraordinary artwork and architecture that forms the Basilica, you will see the beautiful mosaic of the Risen Christ, and the remarkable Grand Organ. Celebrate Mass at the Crypt that contains the Tombs of many notable Cardinals.
Time permitting, you may have the opportunity during your free time to ascend a staircase to the Dome, where you will take in a breathtaking panoramic view of the city of Paris. Dinner on your own this evening.
Day 7, June 18 - Paris:
Today, you will enjoy a full sightseeing tour of Paris: After breakfast, you will visit and celebrate Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, where you will view the incorrupt body of St. Catherine Laboure. The Saint's guardian angel led her to the chapel, where the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to her. During apparitions, Our Lady repeatedly instructed the making and purpose of the Miraculous Medal, as well as the green scapular. According to the Blessed Virgin Mary, those who wear the Miraculous Medal and scapular will receive special protection and abundant graces. Following your prayerful and reflective experience at this elegant chapel, you will begin your sightseeing tour of Paris. Walk to St. Vincent de Paul Church and board our Motor Coach to view the most recognizable symbol of the city of Paris, the Eiffel Tower. Historically, the Tower's original intent was to commemorate the centenary of the French Revolution, but later assisted in the advancement of meteorology, telegraphy, radio and television during World War I. We will pass by Les Invalids, and L'Arch de Triomphe, a monument that symbolizes gratitude for those who fought for France. The monument stands on the west end of the Champ-Elysses, one of the world's most famous boulevards. We will stop at the La Madeleine, to view a statue of Mary Magdalene who was carried to heaven by angels. Due to the tragic fire at the Notre Dame Cathedral in 2019, pilgrims may or may not be able to enter the Cathedral but can still view the Cathedral and view the sacred relics on display in a nearby church. Have lunch at a nearby cafe. We will then continue and pass by the Opera and tour the famous Louvre Museum. This museum is one of the finest in the world and contains a number of pieces that truly emanate not only French art, but also, European culture. Following the tour, pilgrims can explore the city further and enjoy dinner on your own.
Day 8, June 19 - Paris:
After breakfast, we will board our Motor Coach once again for a 1/2 day tour of Giverny, (Claude Monet's Garden and Home). The afternoon will remain at leisure. In the evening, we will gather once again for our farewell dinner at a local restaurant. Following dinner, we will take a scenic evening boat cruise on the River Seine while sipping on Champagne and enjoying the sparkling lights, stunning river views and must see attractions like the Eiffel Tower & Grenelle Bridge in the famous "City of Lights" - Paris! A perfect way to say Au revoir - Pari !
Day 9 June 20 - Paris to Medjugorje:
After breakfast we will make our way to the Paris airport for our flight to Dubrovnik (Split or Sarajevo). Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a tour guide and/or driver who will then take you on the 2 1/2 hour drive by private motor coach to the village of Medjugorje. Once there, you will meet your fellow pilgrims and be introduced to Ivan Dragicevic and your place of residence for the next 7 days.
Day 10 - 15, June 21 - 26 - Medjugorje:
During your stay in Medjugorje, you will have the opportunity to share faith with pilgrims from all over the world. Here are some of the activities you will enjoy. After daily breakfast and prayer service in Ivan's Chapel, you can walk through the grape fields to St. James Church to attend the English language mass at 10 a.m. Climb Apparition Hill, where the visionaries first encountered Our Lady and visit and pray at the "Blue Cross" which is a place of great healings and graces - a very special place at the base of Apparition Hill. You will have the opportunity to climb Krizevac Mountain where in 1933, the villagers built a 30' high cross on the anniversary of Jesus crucifixion. Visit the community of Cenacolo and Mother's Village a place created by Fr. Slavko for orphaned children from the war. Dinner will be at Ivan's place and every evening we will say the Rosary with Ivan in his Chapel and be present for the apparition at 5:40 p.m. Religious articles will be blessed and following the apparition, you will hear Our Lady's Message given to Ivan that day. On Thursdays and Saturdays, there will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and on Friday, Veneration of the Cross. Confessions are held daily at St. James Church and there is plenty of free time to enjoy the beauty and peace of this sacred place and the village known around the world as Medjugorje.
