If you desire to draw closer to Jesus of Nazareth, come, as we follow in His footsteps. Each day of your pilgrimage you will have time to renew and affirm your faith; to pray and reflect. The Scriptures will come alive as you visit Our Lord's homeland. You will be inspired by the natural beauty of the landscape, in addition to its rich historical heritage It is an encounter that has changed the lives of many pilgrims, an act of faith and prayer. Pilgrims have been traveling to the Holy Land for hundreds of years, and as part of your pilgrimage, we include many of the rich traditions that have evolved over time. The maxim at the entrance to the Church of the Nativity says: "We are hoping that: If you enter here as a tourist, you would exit as a pilgrim. If you enter here as a pilgrim, you would exit as a holier one." We pray that same will occur when you join a 206 Tours Pilgrimage.

Itinerary
Day 1, Sun, Nov 28: Depart for Tel Aviv
Make your way to your local airport where you will board your overnight flight. Your meals will be served on board.
Day 2, Mon, Nov 29: Arrive in Tel Aviv
Upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, make your way to the baggage claim area and collect your luggage. Proceed to the Arrival's Hall, where you will be greeted by your tour guide and/or driver. Transfer to your hotel in Tel Aviv to check-in. Enjoy dinner at St. George Restaurant in Jaffa before retiring for the evening.
Day 3, Tue, Nov 30: Tel Aviv - Stella Maris (Haifa) - Acre - GalileeTheme: Old Testament backdrop
Depart Tel Aviv and drive up the coast to Haifa, located on Mt Carmel, where we will visit the Carmelite Shrine dedicated to Our Lady of Mt Carmel, and pray at the cave where Elijah the prophet took refuge. Continue to Acre to see the remains of this ancient port that was the Headquarters for the Crusades. The Crusaders established Acre at the capital of their Christian Kingdom and the city still has impressive remains of the fortress and tunnels built by the Knights Templar. The city still has a small Christian population served by the parish Churches of St. Francis and St. John. Drive to Mukhraka; the Monastery here commemorates Elijah confronting the prophets of Baal. Check-in to your hotel in Galilee.
Day 4, Wed, Dec 01: Nazareth - Cana - Yardenit at Jordan RiverTheme: The Annunciation
Drive to Nazareth, the site of Mary's home and the town where Jesus lived as a child. Visit the Basilica of the Annunciation where you see representations of the Virgin Mary from around the world that speaks to the Universality of the Catholic Church. Also visit the Byzantine Church of St. Joseph and Mary's Well. Enjoy lunch (not included) at Nazareth Village, a careful recreation of what a Galilean village would have been like at the time of Jesus. In the afternoon , visit Cana, where Jesus performed His first miracle at the request of His mother. Here visit the Franciscan Chapel where we celebrate the Mass and couples participate in the renewal of their wedding vows. End the day at Yardenit, located where the Jordan river flows from the Sea of Galilee, with time to reflect on Baptism at the Jordan River. Return to hotel in Galilee.
Day 5, Thu, Dec 02: Tiberias - Sea of GalileeTheme: The Ministry of Christ in the Galilee
The day starts with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Then to the Mount of Beatitudes, scene of Jesus' great Sermon on the Mount. Then to Tabgha where Jesus fed the crowd of 5,000 and onto the site known as "Peter's Primacy". Here, after His resurrection, Jesus met with His disciples and told Peter to "feed my lambs; feed my sheep." A short drive away is Capernaum, from where Jesus launched his Ministry; see the synagogue which dates to the time of Jesus and the Church built over the site of Peter's home. Celebrate the Mass in this special place. After, enjoy a lunch of Crispy Fried St. Peter Fish. In the afternoon, drive up to Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus told St. Peter "You are the Rock, and upon this rock I will build my Church." Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 6, Fri, Dec 03: Jerusalem Mt. Tabor - Samaria - JerusalemTheme: The Transfiguration & Jesus in Samaria
After breakfast, we will drive to Mount Tabor, the site of the Transfiguration, with time to reflect on Christ's Humanity and Divinity, and a good preparation for your journey back to Jerusalem, where Jesus was to suffer crucifixion and resurrection. The Mass will be celebrated here at the Basilica which is designed to represent 3 tents. Continue south through Samaria, a land rich in Old Testament history. Drive through the valley between the twin peaks of Mt Gerizim and Mt Ebal, known in the Old Testament as Mt. Blessing and Mt Cursing. Stop at Jacob's Well, hewn out of solid rock over 100 feet deep. Manually dug out, it is the same well mentioned in the Gospel of John. The water at the bottom of the well is fed by flowing water, which is why ancients gave it the name of "Living Water". It is at this well that Jesus met the Samaritan woman and said to her: "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." Many pilgrims today like to drink from the well. We continue on to Jerusalem, passing Shiloh, where the Ark of the Covenant was kept and through the beautiful Levonah valley, referred to in Judges as the Valley of the Dancers. Arrive in Jerusalem, check-in to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7, Sat, Dec 04: Temple Model - Ein Karem - BethlehemTheme: The Visitation and Nativity
This morning enjoy breakfast before we start our day in Jerusalem, which houses the temple to which Jesus was Presented (Luke 2:22). Visit the Israel Museum to see the model of the Second Temple as it was in the time of Jesus and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Following this visit, you will take a short drive to the village of Ein Karem, the birthplace of John the Baptist. It is known that there are two Churches in Ein Karem, representing the two homes of Zechariah and Elizabeth. The first is in a valley where the birth of St. John the Baptist is commemorated (Luke 1:39-80) in the Church of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist. The second is on a hill where Elizabeth spent five months in seclusion (Luke 1:24) at the Church of the Visitation. You will have a chance to visit both of these Churches and have the opportunity to pray the Mystery of the Rosary as you walk up the hill to the Church of the Visitation. In the afternoon, transfer to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus. In Bethlehem, you will have the opportunity to view the Shepherd's Fields (Luke 2:8). In the caves of these fields, you are still able to see the soot marks of fires that shepherds lit to keep warm. The tour concludes at Manger Square, which stands in front of the Church of the Nativity. As you enter the Church, you will proceed down to the Grotto of the Nativity which marks the spot of Our Saviour's birth (Matthew 2:1-18). Beneath the altar, there is a silver star and a Latin inscription that states: HIC DE VIRGINE MARIA JESUS CHRISTUS NATUS (Here Jesus Christ was born to the Virgin Mary). Following Mass in this Sacred space, return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight.
Day 8, Sun, Dec 05: Jerusalem: Temple Mount - Mt. Of Olives - Gethsemane - Mt. ZionTheme: Palm Sunday and the Agony in the Garden
Following an early breakfast at your hotel start your day with a walk on the Temple Mount and around the Dome of the Rock mosque. Then make your way to the Mount of Olives, where you will be able to take in the beautiful, panoramic view of Jerusalem. Historically, the Mount of Olives was a mandatory transit point for Jesus during many iconic moments. Visit the Pater Noster Shrine where Jesus taught His disciples the Lord's Prayer (Pater Noster) (Luke 11:1-4). Visit the Chapel of the Ascension. It marks the place where Jesus is believed to have ascended into heaven. Then you will have the opportunity to stop at Dominus Flevit which is a Church that commemorates where Jesus wept for Jerusalem (Luke 19:41). Continue on to Gethsemane, a garden at the foot of the Mount of Olives. Jesus brought His disciples here to pray the night before He was crucified (Luke 22:29-53). The Garden still contains trees with roots that date back to the time of Jesus. Your next stop, the Church of All Nations, is built over the "Rock of Agony" This is where Jesus prayed alone on the night of His arrest. You are invited to remain in prayer and to reflect on Christ's agony which He experienced. Nearby is the Tomb of Mary which is located in an underground Church. Continue with a visit to the house of the High Priest Caiaphas (Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu). This Church commemorates where Jesus was examined and eventually imprisoned before the Council in Jerusalem. It also commemorates Peter's Denial of Christ (John 18:15-18), Peters' repentance, and Jesus' forgiveness of Peter. You will also visit the Upper Room on Mt. Zion. The Upper Room is where Jesus and His disciples celebrated the Last Supper (Matthew 26:17-30) and where Jesus appeared to His disciples after His Death and Resurrection (Mark 16:14). In addition, visit the nearby Benedictine Church of the Dormition. Tradition tells us that this Church is where Mary, the Mother of Jesus, "fell asleep." At the end of this prayerful day, return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 9, Mon, Dec 06: Western Wall - Davidson Centre - Jordan Valley & Dead SeaTheme: Early Years in Jerusalem & the Wilderness
This morning visit the Western Wall, Judaism's holiest site and also the Davidson Centre where you learn about the ancient rituals at the Temple. Travel through the Judean wilderness, the site where Jesus spent His 40 days of fasting. Then to Qumran. Qumran is made up of 2,000year old ruins from the days of the Second Temple and also the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were written and discovered (Ezekiel 47:8-10). These writings have helped further the understanding of Jewish background in Christianity. End the day with time to enjoy a swim in the unique waters of the Dead Sea before returning to Jerusalem.
Day 10, Tue, Dec 07: Jerusalem: Via Dolorosa - Holy SepulchreTheme: The Way of the Cross, The Crucifixion, The Resurrection
This morning you will have a very early wake-up to begin the Via Dolorosa (The Way of the Cross) at the Antonia Fortress. This is the spot where Jesus was condemned to death by Pontius Pilate (John 18:28-19:16). Following His condemnation, He was taken (on the Road to Calvary) to His place of Crucifixion. Reflect upon the Stations of the Cross as you travel through the markets of the Old City to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher (Luke 23:26-33). This sacred destination is the site of Calvary (Jesus' crucifixion place) and His tomb (Luke 23: 50-55). Celebrate the Mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Then visit to the Church of St. Anne's, the home of Jesus' maternal grandparents (Anne and Joachim); and the Pool of Bethesda, where Jesus healed the crippled man (John 5:1-9). Walk through the Old City to visit the Armenian Cathedral of St James. Visit the Russian Orthodox Church of Mary Magdalene then to Abou Ghosh, probable site of Emmaus, where Jesus appeared to the two Disciples after the Resurrection. Here visit the lovely Crusader Church and meditate in the beautiful gardens tended by the nuns. This will be the ideal place to reflect on your pilgrimage
Day 11, Wed, Dec 08: Cross to Jordan - Jerash - Wadi Rum
Following breakfast, you will cross to Jordan and continue up to Jerash. Nestled in a quiet valley among the mountains of Gilead, Jerash is the grandeur of Imperial Rome, and one of the largest and most well-preserved sites of Roman architecture in the world, outside of Italy. To this day, its paved and colonnaded streets, soaring hilltop temples, handsome theaters, spacious public squares and plazas, baths, fountains and city walls pierced by towers and gates remain in exceptional condition. From Jerash we'll continue south to Wadi Rum. Overnight at Sun City Wadi Rum.
Day 12, Thu, Dec 09: Wadi Rum Jeep Tour - Petra
This morning we drive from the Sun City camp to Wadi Rum, one of Jordan and the world's known natural wonders. "Vast, echoing and God-like." That is how T.E. Lawrence, the British archaeologist and army officer who inspired the 1962 film "Lawrence of Arabia" described Wadi Rum. As you approach the wind-swept mountains that fiercely jut out of the burnt orange sand in Jordan's largest desert, it is easy to see what he meant. The landscape here is like something from another world. We enjoy a Jeep ride into Wadi Rum for a distinctive desert experience. The afternoon includes a Camel ride along the unique desert. Drive to Petra for dinner and overnight.
Day 13, Fri, Dec 10: Petra ( Full Day Visit)
This morning explore the "Lost" city of Petra! This city is located amongst rugged desert canyons and mountains. Enjoy a walking tour of this former capital and trading center. Your first stop will be a visit to the Siq, a mile-long gorge that contains a number of spectacular structures that are carved into the mountains. Also see the magnificent Treasury and Roman Theatre. In the late afternoon explore the town of Wadi Musa. Mass today will be at the Hotel followed by dinner and restful overnight.
Day 14, Sat, Dec 11: Petra - Madaba - Mt. Nebo - Amman
This morning we will drive to the "City of Mosaics," Madaba. While in this city, you will visit St. George's Church which houses the oldest map of the Holy Land which includes Israel, Palestine, and Southern Egypt. Later, visit Mt. Nebo, the most revered of Holy sites in Jordan. This mountain was mentioned in Deuteronomy 34, "Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab to the top of Pisgah." While here, you will tour the Holy site where Moses died and was buried. Today's Mass will be at Mt. Nebo. Drive to Amman for a city tour covering the Roman excavations and Museum.
