"Fidelity of Christ, Fidelity of the Priest"

In Occasion of the 150th anniversary of the "dies natalis" of John Mary Vianney, the patron saint of parish priests worldwide, Pope Benedict XVI inaugurated a "Year for Priests" in June.  His Holiness described this year as a time for all priests to deepen their commitment to interior renewal for the sake of a more forceful and incisive witness to the Gospel in today's world.

The "Year for Priests" will conclude in 2010 with the International Meeting of Priests that has the theme "Fidelity of Christ, Fidelity of the Priest."

This Meeting will include moments of prayer, reflection and sharing, as well as an audience with His Holiness in St. Peter's Square, will be developed alongside the religious-cultural itineraries of Christian Rome.
