Board your overnight transatlantic flights from your home town. Meals are served on board.
Sep 29, 2011, Day 2 Warsaw, Dinner
Group’s arrival in Warsaw. Orientation walk along the Old Town with visit to Basilica of the Metropolitan
Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Warsaw’s oldest church, site of the celebrations in the year of 1791 when
Poland’s Constitution of May 3, the first constitution in Europe and only the second in the world, was
proclaimed. Walk along the Market Square and New Town.
Holy Mass at St. James church. This is the church where St. Faustina went on her first trip to Warsaw,
when she went to join a convent . Overnight in Warsaw
Sep 30, 2011, Day 3 Warsaw, Breakfast & Dinner at the hotel
A morning visit to St. Stanislaw Kostka Church and lecture “The Catholic church in Poland under communism and in the transition to democracy. ” Also visit the special exhibition devoted to Father Jerzy Popieluszko, one of the greatest church personalities in Poland murdered by the communists. In the year 2010 the beatification of Father Popiełuszko took place in Warsaw. Visit the Museum devoted to the Blessed Father Jerzy, where you can see his belongings and also a short history of his priesthood and his martyr death. Drive through the Royal Route with many historical monuments, aristocratic residences and churches, including a stop by the Holy Cross Church where Frederic Chopin’s heart is placed. Stop at the Pilsudski Square where you can see a specially designed cross that stands in the place where Pope John Paul II celebrated Holy Mass in 1979, during his first pilgrimage to Poland as a Pope. Drive to the Convent of Divine Mercy on Zytnia Street, which Faustina joined in 1924. Afterwards, drive to Walendow and Derdy to visit the Convent of Sisters of Divine Mercy where Faustina stayed in 1936.

Oct 1, 2011, Day 4 Warsaw – Niepokalanow - Plock - Lichen dinner in Lichen at the hotel 70th anniversary of martyr death of St. Maximilian Kolbe
Morning drive to Niepokalanow Sanctuary and the Franciscan Monastery linked with St. Maximilian
Maria Raymond Kolbe - a martyr from the death camp in Auschwitz. The monastery was founded in 1927 and in
1980 John Paul II gave the church the title of a lesser basilica. A figure of the Mother of God of the Immaculate
Conception was placed in a niche in the front wall of the basilica. Meet the priest from the Niepokalanow
Sanctuary. Visit the museum of St. Maximilian Kolbe whose 70th anniversary of martyr death we will
commemorate in the year 2011. Arrival in Płock. Holy Mass in Plock
80th anniversary of Jesus appearing to Faustina Kowalska and revealing to her the message of Divine Mercy
Visit the convent where Sr. Faustina lived in 1931. It is here ,where on February 22nd, 1931, Jesus appeared to her bringing the wonderful message of Mercy for all of the mankind and asking her to “paint a picture according to the image that you see.” Faustina, with the help of her spiritual director, Blessed Michael Sopocko, arranged to have the picture of Divine Mercy painted with the inscription “Jesus, I trust in You!”
Continue to Lichen, probably the second famous sanctuary, after Czestochowa, devoted to the Virgin

Oct 2, 2011, Day 5 Lichen - Glogowiec - Swince Warckie - Czestochowa, Breakfast & Lunch
Holy Mass will be celebrated in Lichen Basilica
A morning drive to Glogowiec where Faustina was born and to the church of Swinice Warckie, where she was baptized. Continue to Czestochowa to visit Jasna Gora Monastery. See the Black Madonna Shrine and the Treasury Room where you will see an impressive collection of many precious gifts received by the monastery throughout the ages. Walk along the fortification walls of the Pauline Monastery and the Way of the Cross.

Oct 3, 2011, DAY 6 Czestochowa – Oswiecim - Krakow, Breakfast & Dinner
Mass will be celebrated in Czestochowa
Morning departure for Krakow. En route stop in Oswiecim to see the former Nazi concentration camp
Auschwitz-Birkenau, the biggest factory of death in the history of humanity and the silent witness of human
tragedy. After arrival in Krakow tour of the city including the Old Town area with beautiful Market Square and
the St. Mary’s Church famous for its wooden, glorious altar by Wit Stwosz. Visit also the Franciscan Church to
see the most interesting Art-Nouveau stained-glass windows in the chancel and above the organ loft, the latter
being regarded among the greatest in Poland. Overnight in Krakow
Oct 4, 2011, DAY 7 Krakow - Kalwaria Zebrzydowska - Wadowice Krakow, Breakfast & Lunch
Mass celebrated in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska
Drive to Kalwaria Zebrzydowska that is lying among the colorful hills of the Wadowice Upland. From far away
you may see the monastery complex of the Bernardine Fathers with the early baroque church of the Angelic
Mother of God. South of the monastery there is the famous imitation of Calvary with chapels and shrines that
all resemble the topography of Jerusalem. It covers the area of 300 hectares (approximately 7750 acres) and attracts 1 million pilgrims
annually. Afterwards, drive to Wadowice. Lunch at a local restaurant. Visit the house, now a museum, where Pope John Paul II was born in 1920. See the Wadowice Church of the Presentation of the Virgin Mary, where he was baptized. Overnight in Krakow
Oct 5, 2011, DAY 8 –Feast of St. Faustina Krakow- Lagiewniki, Breakfast & Dinner Conclusion of The World Apostolic Congress on Divine Mercy in Krakow & Lagiewniki
Morning drive to Lagiewniki to visit the Convent of the Sisters of Marcy, where St. Faustina lived and died. Attend the closing Holy Mass of the World Apostolic Congress on Divine Mercy. Visit the chapel of the Comvent as well as the new church built after the canonization of St. Faustina. Drive back to Krakow to visit the Archdiocesan Museum that presents collections of sacred art borrowed from the treasuries of various churches in Krakow and the region. The most interesting are the exhibitions in the rooms where Karol Wojtyla lived in 1951-1958, complete with furniture, private belongings and precious gifts received by John Paul II. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Krakow
Oct 6, 2011, DAY 9 Krakow – Ludzmierz - Zakopane – Krakow, Breakfast & Lunch
Depart for Zakopane. En route stop in Ludzmierz, a small village with its magnificent icon of the Virgin, the
Queen of Podhale, best known in the south part of Poland. In 1963 during the crowning ceremony, as the feretory bearing the figure was being carried, the scepter fell from its hands. It was caught in mid-air by then the Bishop of Krakow, Karol Wojtyla, who years later went on to become Pope. In Zakopane, weather permitting, take a cable car to the nearby mountaintop of Gubalowka for a thrilling panoramic view. It is here that Pope John Paul II hiked the many wooded trails, some of which you will visit. Learn about his love of the outdoors, his excellent athletic ability (hiking, skiing, etc.) and his love of theater and poetry. Stop by the Sanctuary of the Virgin Mary of Fatima. Dinner with folklore show at a local highlander’s inn and typical highlanders’ dishes. Drive back to Krakow. Overnight in Krakow
