Sample Day-by-Day Itinerary:


Day 1, Sunday, April 9, 2012
Depart Fairbanks, Alaska (or New York) at around 1AM to fly via Seattle to Prague.


Day 2, Monday, April 10, 2012 - Arrive Prague
Welcome to Prague, your tour director is at the airport to warmly greet you and soon you're comfortably settled at your hotel. Relax in the city of domed rooftops, soaring steeples, and countless spires.

Day 3, Tuesday, April 11, 2012 – Prague
After breakfast, we begin our tour of beautiful Prague. We will celebrate Mass at the Church of Our Lady Victorious and see there the renowned statue of the Infant Jesus of Prague. We visit Old Town by way of Golden Lane and then go to the Lesser Town to see the medieval Charles Bridge that is adorned with many baroque statues. We will also see St. Nicholas Church, the Astronomic Clock, and the Prague Castle district where we tour St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George Basilica, Loreto Church, Strahov Monastery, and Wenceslas Square. Dinner and overnight Prague.


Day 4, Wednesday, April 12, 2012 – Prague excursion to Kutna Hora.
A one hour drive east of Prague we will arrive at the architecturally rich town of Kutná Hora, which was built in the Middle Ages in the middle of an extensive silver ore field. It became, over the course of time, the second most significant town after Prague and symbolized the force and wealth of Czech kings and the kingdom. Our guided sightseeing tour to Kutna Hora leads us through the ancient city streets, and includes entrances to the most important buildings. There is also some free time to browse the shops and take refreshments. Return to Prague for dinner and overnight.


Day 5, Thursday, April 13, 2012 – Prague - Wadowice - Krakow (Poland)
Drive by bus to Krakow. En route stop in Wadowice, the birthplace of Pope John Paul II. The house is presently under renovation but we will visit the parish church which he attended and where he was baptized. Dinner and overnight.


Day 6, Friday, April 14, 2012 - Krakow & Visit to Lagiewniki
After breakfast we enjoy the guided tour of Kraków including entrance to Wawel Royal Cathedral, Cloth Hall, Pope's window in See Metropolitan, St. Mary's Church with one of the largest Gothic altars in Europe which was carved in linden wood by Master Veit Stoss. On the way to Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Łagiewniki we pass through Tyniecka Street where Pope John Paul II lived as an 18 years old boy with His father. In Lagiewniki we visit the Santruary; the old church containing the mortal remains of Saint Sister Faustina, the herald of Divine Mercy, and a new basilica which was designed by Witold Cenckiewicz. Next stop “Be Not Afraid” center, housing Blessed Pope John Paul II relics. The name of the center “Be Not Afraid” corresponds to the memorable words of the Holy Father spoken at the threshold of his pontificate on October 22, 1978: “Do not be afraid! Open. Open wide the doors for Christ! Open the borders of countries, economic systems, and civilizations path to His saving power. Do not be afraid!” One of his relics is a robe with blood drop worn during the assassination attempt on Pope in 1981. Dinner and overnight in Krakow.



Day 7, Saturday, April 15, 2012 – Divine Mercy Sunday in Lagiewniki &, Excursion to Swierklany, the hometown of Mirek Woznica.
Today is the Divine Mercy Sunday and we are blessed to be in the capital of the Divine Mercy. It was here that originated the message of the Divine Mercy, which Christ Himself wished to pass on to our generation, through the mediation of St. Faustina. The Sanctuary houses grace-working image of Merciful Jesus and the relics of St. Faustina. Later we continue to Swierklany the hometown of Mirek Woznica . Mass at St. Ann's parish. We return to Krakow for dinner and overnight.


Day 8, Sunday, April 16, 2012 – Krakow – Wieliczka - Auschwitz - Krakow
After breakfast trip to Wieliczka Salt Mines one of the most ancient mines in the world. The mines have been operating since the 13th century with no intermissions. In 1978, mine was listed as UNESCO World Culture and National Heritage Site. Than visit of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska - a huge monastery with beautiful located Stations of the Cross - each one a separate chapel. The newest acquisition on the UNESCO List of the World Heritage in Poland. In the afternoon we go to Auschwitz, the notorious Nazi concentration camp. We will see the cell that imprisoned St. Maximillian Kolbe and the Martyrdom Museum recalling the horrors of the Holocaust. Return to Krakow for dinner and overnight.


Day 9, Monday, April 17, 2012 –Krakow - Zakopane
After breakfast we leave Krakow for Zakopane, a resort village nestled in the splendor of the Tatras region. En route admire picturesque landscapes of Polish highest mountains and visits the Hermitage of St. Brother Albert, founder of the Albertines Order. Wheather permitting we take a cable car ride to the nearby mountaintop for extraordinary views. we invite you to follow a short distance on one of John Paul II's walking trails of the Zakopane region, a beautifully situated place within Tatras Mountains in the valley between Gubalowka and Giewont. Zakopane and its vicinity is something of a mountain folklore reserve, with many pearls of typical wooden architecture. A short walk along colorful Krupowki Street for some shopping in the local bazaar. Dinner and overnight in Zakopane

 

Day 10, Tuesday, April 18, 2012 – Zakopane - Czestochowa
Next stop is the site of Poland's greatest pilgrimage shrine, Our Lady of Czestochowa, one of the most important places of religious worship in the Christian world, with tradition of pilgrimages that goes back to the 14th century. Visit Jasna Gora Monastery with the Black Madonna picture. Our Holy Father has frequently visited Czestochowa, known as the Shrine of the Black Madonna. We celebrate Mass at the Pauline Monastery and venerate the priceless treasures contained within, including the Miraculous Icon. Dinner and overnight in Częstochowa.


Day 11, Wednesday, April 19, 2012 – Czestochowa - Niepokalanow - Swinice Warckie - Warsaw
After breakfast, we depart Czestochowa, and continue to Niepokalanow, where we will see the franciscan Monastery founded by St. Maximillian Kolbe and home of Basilica of Virgin Mary. En route stop in Swinice Warckie to visit the parish church St. Casimir where St. Faustina was baptized Helen Kowalska. Next stop Warsaw, capitol of Poland. Dinner and overnight in Warsaw


Day 12, Thursday, April 20, 2012 – Warsaw
Mass at St. James Church, the church St. Faustina went when she arrived in Warsaw Sightseeing of major Warsaw landmarks including: Old Town, Market Square, the Barbican, the Warsaw Ghetto monument,
Lazienki Park, the Chopin statue, and the magnificently restored Royal Castle. Visit and Mass at Visit 3-9 Zytnia Street where Faustina entered the convent.
