ABOUT FATIMA:
The Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima is one of most famous Marian shrines in the world. Drawn by apparitions of the Virgin Mary to three local shepherd children in 1917. Four million people visit Fatima each year. The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to shepherd children on the 13th day of six consecutive months in 1917, starting on May 13th until October 13th. The events at Fatima gained particular fame due to their elements of prophecy and eschatology, particularly with regard to possible world war and the conversion of Russia.

ABOUT MEDJUGORJE:
On June 25, 1981, in the mountain village of Medjugorje in Herzegovina, Our Lady appeared to six children. She identified herself as the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace, and continues to appear to several of the visionaries. Day 1, November 1, 2012: Depart USA (PHX or LAX or LAS) – Portugal
Depart from your hometown for the overnight flight to Lisbon, Portugal. Dinner and breakfast will be served on board.

Day 2, November 2, 2012: Arrive Lisbon – Santarem – Fatima
Upon arrival in Lisbon, meet your priest, tour guide, and fellow pilgrims. you will find your luggage and exit the baggage claim into the arrivals hall where you will be greeted by a tour guide and/or driver. You will be escorted to the vehicle which will then take you on a sightseeing tour of this beautiful Portuguese city and to celebrate Mass. Afterwards, depart Lisbon for Santarem, where one of the oldest cities in the world is located. We will walk through its narrow streets to the Church of St. Stephen, containing the oldest recorded Eucharistic Miracle that has been on continuous display since 1269. We then continue on to Fatima, the place where the Blessed Mother appeared in 1917 to three simple shepherd children and exhorted mankind to pray for world peace. Dinner and overnight in Fatima.

Day 3, November 3, 2012: Excursion to Aljustrel & Valinhos
After breakfast, we will travel to the Hamlet of Aljustrel, where the children lived. On the 13th of each month from May to October in 1917, the Virgin Mary appeared to three children- Lúcia dos Santos, Jacinta Marto, and Francisco Marto- in the fields outside the village of Aljustrel. In Aljustrel, the homes of the children have been left mostly unchanged, giving an idea of what the little village was like before the grand shrine was built. We will also visit Valinhos, the site of Our Lady's appearance after the children's return from prison. We then return back to Fatima for dinner and overnight.

Day 4, November 4, 2012: Fatima
After breakfast, start your day by going to Mass at the Little Chapel of the Apparitions. We will see the Basilica, the site of Francesco and Jacinta's graves, and experience Christ's love as you walk the Stations of the Cross along the Via Sacra (The Sacred Way) culminating in the Chapel of Calvary, overlooking all of Fatima. Don't forget your white handkerchief for the Adeus farewell, when pilgrims wave a loving farewell to the statue of Our Lady of the Rosary. Join your prayers with those of pilgrims from around the world in an evening candlelight procession to pray the rosary as you pray for the sick, drink water from the miraculous well, and attend the blessing of the sick. Time for private devotions before dinner and overnight.

Day 5, November 5, 2012: Fatima – Lisbon – Medjugorje
After breakfast you will be transferred to Lisbon Airport for your flights to Medjugorje. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by a tour guide and/or driver who will then take you on the 2 ½ hour drive by private coach to the village of Medjugorje. Guide will be with your throughout your stay. Once there, you'll meet your fellow pilgrims and your spiritual leader and be introduced to your host family in whose comfortable yet modest home (inn) you will be staying for the next six (6) nights.

Days 6 to 10, November 6 to 10, 2012: Medjugorje
Experience the beauty and peace of this simple village. During your stay in Medjugorje you will have the opportunity to share faith with pilgrims from all over the world. Your local guide will accompany us throughout your stay. Here are some of the activities you'll be sharing with our fellow pilgrims: Each morning at 10:00 am, assemble at St. James Church for the English-language Mass (Feast days and Sundays English Mass is at Noon). Follow the path up Apparition Hill where the visionaries first encountered Our Lady. Touch and pray before the cross that commemorates the spot where Mary first appeared to the visionaries. Each evening at 5:00 pm, we will join the villagers and pilgrims to pray the rosary. The apparition takes place at 5:40pm, and then stay on for Croatian Mass. Don't miss on Tuesdays and Saturdays Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and on Fridays Veneration of the Cross in the Church. Each evening during Croatian Mass, there is the Blessing of the Sick and blessing of the items you have with you. Your guide may arrange meetings with the visionaries at their own homes (pending availability). You will have the opportunity to climb Krizevac Mountain, where in 1933 the villagers built a 30 ft high cross on the anniversary of Jesus' crucifixion. Visit and pray at "Blue Cross," a place of great healings and graces at the base of Apparition Hill. Also have an opportunity to visit the Community of Cenacolo.

Day 11, November 11, 2012: Depart Medjugorje – USA
After an early breakfast and heartfelt farewells, leave by motor coach for Dubrovnik Airport (Split or Sarajevo) for return flights home.
